Queer Eye

Excitement for the next installment was shared all around. People tagged all of their friends, making sure they would all gather together on the couch to share the uplifting, emotional transformations. The comical exchanges, a touch of tough love, the letting go of the old to embrace the new and unfamiliar, and the sharing, vicariously, the pride in the triumph, brings the audience every season. For most, there were no words, just happy tears emojis, or the repeated sentiment that they were already crying.

Isami said it for all of us. “I will be away from my desk from Dec 31-January… however long it takes me to watch the entire season and cry my eyes out/recover emotionally between each episode of @queereye. I will also be needing an additional week to properly Zhuzhing up my hair, perfecting my French tuck, spicing up the heart of my home, understanding tomatoes, and working on my gorgeous self care. Thank you for your understanding as my self-care is the non-negotiable. Thank you, Isami @karamo @bobby @tanfrance @antoni @jvn”

Even the crew knows what we’re in for, as Antoni Porowski invites the audience with, “join us for some snot cries, cowboy boots and a very special addition 🦮 to our@queereye lofton December 31 ❤️🏳️‍🌈🥑” We even have a new furry babe after the belovedBruley’s passing. Antoni introduced us with, “no one asked for @neonthemutt to join @queereye but she decided to anyways and her lewks won’t disappoint .”

Antoni’s Neon even has her own Instagram, so we can keep up with all of said lewks. The ensembles are aplenty, but Neon’s wit wins the game. “If it looks like a human and walks like a human give it human food that’s all I’m saying #dogs #dogsofinstagram #pitmix #rescuedog#rescuepit”

TheQueer Eyereboot reflects the current sea change in what is required for progress in the person’s life besides appearance. Whilethe original serieswas indeed groundbreaking for its content and hosts, the new iteration acknowledges and addresses mental health and well-being as essential to encourage meaningful change. In the one hour program, they aren’t able to heal all wounds or leave with the person’s personal work complete. However, it’s clear the team has put their subject on the path to get there.Queer Eyeseason 6 premieres on December 31, only on Netflix.
