Things have been quiet on theResident Evil: The Final Chapterfront ever since stuntwoman/actressOlivia Jacksonwasbadly injuredon set. Shooting seems to be back up and running at full pace now. And today,Deadlinehas announced five new cast additions. Though, at this time, it isn’t known how many more actors may be coming aboard.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is currentlyshooting in South Africa. The crew on-location welcome franchise newcomersRuby Rose, Eoin Macken and William Levy. Returning from previous installments areIain Glen, who played Dr. Isaacs in 2004’sResident Evil: Apocalypseand 2007’sResident Evil: Extinction, andShawn Roberts, who played Albert Wesker in 2010’sResident Evil: Afterlifeand the previous installment, 2012’sResident Evil: Retribution. They join franchise mainstayMilla Jovovich, who reprises her iconic role asAlice. Alsostarring inthe movie isAli LarterasClaire Redfield.
Paul W.S. Andersonis directing Resident Evil: The Final Chapter from his own script. And as the title suggests, this will be the closing chapter for this particular franchise. But if it’s a hit, we’ll probably see more movies in the future. Though they likely won’t starMilla Jovovich. Not too much of the story has been revealed, but the beginning of the movie will pick up immediate following the events seen inResident Evil: Retribution.
Project Alice is racing against time to stop the villainous Red Queen from destroying the final remnants of humanity in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Though its anybody’s guess as to whether the heroes or villains reign victorious. With this particular apocalyptic fantasy franchise, that could go either way. Producing the sequel are Impact Pictures' Jeremy Bolt, Constantin Film’s Robert Kulzer, Davis-Films' Samuel Hadida andPaul W.S. Anderson. Martin Moszkowicz is serving as an executive producer.
The new actors are all relatively unknown.Iain Glenis probably best remembered for playing Ser Jorah Mormont on HBO’sGame of Thrones.Shawn Robertsstarred in the 2010 thrillerEdge of Darkness.Ruby Rosewill be well known to fans of Netflix’sOrange Is the New Black.
