Next week,Star Warsfans will be in for more news regarding all things in a galaxy far far away than they can possibly handle. That is becauseStar Wars CelebrationLondon is taking place from July 15 through 17 and there will be tons of panels, exclusives, trailers and announcements made throughout that weekend. Unfortunately, most of us won’t be able to make it to London for the event, but fortunately, we can still enjoy a lot of the festivities from the comfort of our own homes.
A recent post on the officialStar Warsblog has confirmed that a livestream of many of the weekend’s big events, including theRogue One: A Star Wars Storypanel on July 15, will be provided for fans. The crew fromThe Star Wars Show, a web series which airs on theStar WarsYouTube channel hosted byAndi GutierrezandPeter Townley, will be hosting the livestream duringStar WarsCelebration. Aside from streaming theRogue Onepanel, they will also be streaming interviews, additional panels and more.
“The Star Wars Show LIVE, streaming from Star Wars Celebration Europe beginning Friday, July 15, through Sunday, July 17, will feature celebrity guests, interviews with Star Wars creators, must-see panels, and much more. Andi Gutierrez and Peter Townley of The Star Wars Show are set to host, bringing you all the action as it happens.”
This news, though very welcomed, shouldn’t come as a big surprise to anyone, as the folks at Disney did the same thing last year, which included a livestream ofThe Force Awakenspanel. TheRogue Onepanel is scheduled for 11 a.m EST on Friday, July 15 and directorGareth Edwardswill be in attendance, as well as Lucasfilm PresidentKathleen Kennedy. The panel is also said to include “specials guests,” which we can only imagine will include other members of the cast and crew.
Not only will we get to hearEdwards,Kennedyand likely a chunk of the cast discuss the firstStar Warsspinoff in great detail, but we also recently learned that a brand-new, full-lengthRogue Onetrailer will be debuting at the event as well, and will be aired on ABC later that night. This will be the first full trailer forRogue Onethat we have seen and will also be the first trailer released for the movie since the news of the massive reshoots came to light, and since it was confirmed thatDarth Vaderwould indeed be appearing in the movie. It is a very safe bet that we will be getting at least a Vader tease, if not a full on look at Vader will be in this newRogue Onetrailer.
It is unclear if the newRogue Onetrailer will be included in the livestream this year, butThe Force Awakenstrailer debuted atStar WarsCelebration last year and was made available immediately for fans to view online. It makes sense that a similar strategy would be employed this year, especially sinceRogue Oneis the firstStar Wars moviethat will be taking place outside of the episodic timeline.Star WarsCelebration is taking place in London next weekend andRogue Oneis set for release on December 16.
