Samuel L. Jacksonis getting to an age where he could decide to kick back and take it easy. The 76-year-old has over 200 credits to his name, and is very rarely off screens, often doing more work than many stars half his age. However, it seems that as long as he is capable of acting, he won’t stop anytime soon.
Speaking in a new interview, Jackson’s wife, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, toldPeoplethat the couple have a special way of deciding when the time is right to call it a day. She said:
“My husband and I — Sam and I — both have said we’re going to do it till the wheels fall off. We both have … this pact between us that if we see ourselves doing more [than] we [should] be doing, we’ll pull each other in and say, ‘It’s time. Come in the house,’ and do it that way.’ We are just going to do this as long as life allows.”

While recently promoting his acting classes in the Masterclass app, Jackson explained why he always makes sure that he shows plenty of respect for the people he works with, no matter what position they hold. He said:
“I remember there was a sign on the wall in the Die Hard office that I never forgot that said, ‘Be careful of the toes you step on today, for they could be connected to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow.’ So I’ve been nice to PAs to everybody and everything else.
“And some of those PAs became producers and gave me jobs, because they said, ‘I remember when I was a PA on so and so and so. You never hassled me. You didn’t make me run and get stuff, and you spoke to me every day.’ You know, it’s nothing. Be nice to that lighting guy, because your ass could be in the dark.”
Jackson has played some of the most memorable charactersin cinema history, appearing in the Star Wars and MCU franchises, as well as having roles in Pulp Fiction, Unbreakable, Snakes on a Plane, and many more. In fact, it is hard to find someone who doesn’t know who Samuel L. Jackson is. As someone who has seemingly done it all many times, it is clear that the actor does what he does for the love of it rather than feeling he still has something to prove.
