Recently, Paramount Pictures slated the movie for release on December 23 which would just barely make the cut-off date requirement for awards consideration. It’s safe to bet thatSilencewill be a great cinematic endeavor as Martin Scorsese is known for his own unique visual style and remarkable skill as a storyteller.

“Seventeenth-century Japan: Two Portuguese Jesuit priests travel to a country hostile to their religion, where feudal lords force the faithful to publicly renounce their beliefs. Eventually captured and forced to watch their Japanese Christian brothers lay down their lives for their faith, the priests bear witness to unimaginable cruelties that test their own beliefs.”

Martin Scorsese isdirecting from a screenplayby Jay Cocks, which is adapted from Shusaku Endo’s novel. Gaston Pavlovich will produce alongside Martin Scorsese, Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Randall Emmett, Irwin Winkler and Barbara DeFinawith, with Dale Brown, Matthew Malek, Tyler Zacharia, George Furla and Chad A.
