Yes, the Miles Morales voice actor himself admitted to being a “sore loser” after his movie,Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, lost out toThe Boy and the Heronat the96th Academy Awards. But when the announcement was made during the ceremony, Moore (@shameikmoore) jumped on X, formerly Twitter, and posted one word:

Actually, Moore first wrote “robed,” but later corrected the spelling error, thus the asterisk accompanying the word “robbed.” Obviously, the Spider-Man voice actor was upset thatThe Boy and the Heronwon and notAcross the Spider-Verse. After seeing the post, the X user @Grahamelot called out Moore and wrote in response:

Hayao Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki ended up winning with the golden statue for their work onThe Boy and the Heron, while Kemp Powers, Justin K. Thompson, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal walked away empty-handed whenAcross the Spider-Verselost. Certainly, losing is never easy. And to Moore’s credit, the actor did positively respond to @Grahamelot’s criticism after being called out on X.
The Shame in ‘Sore Loser’ Shameik
On a night when Arnold Schwarzenegger andDanny DeVito jested with Michael Keatonabout how their characters were defeated by his version of Batman, Shameik Moore’s reaction toSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verselosing at the Oscars ceremony prompted at least one X user to question the actor’s sportsmanship. But before @Grahamelot even had a chance to post a response, Moore already wrote another comment, in which he admitted to being “a sore loser.” The follow-up post read:
And after @Grahamelot finally did remark: “This is how you respond to losing btw,” Moore again took to X and wrote:
Your [sic] right, honestly the whole Spiderverse team are such good sports. Very professional and I’m excited to see what comes of this. I’m young, and a fighter, so forgive my nature. Congrats to the winners.
