This summer,Marvelwill kick off its highly-anticipatedPhase ThreewithCaptain America: Civil War, which hits theaters on May 6, signalling the start of the summer movie season. This massive superhero adventure will not only re-unite practically every character in theMarvel Cinematic Universe, with the notable exceptions of Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth), but it will also introduce fans to the new MCU version ofSpider-Man, portrayed byTom Holland. Last night,Marvel’s ownLouis D’Espositoshared a new photo on hisTwitterpage, which features himself andTom Holland, who appear to be on anAvengersQuinjet.
Louis D’Espositowouldn’t clarify where, and when, for that matter, this photo was taken, but fans on Twitter have been replying to this tweet with a variety of suggestions. It’s possible thatCaptain America: Civil Warcould be undergoing reshoots right now, but that hasn’t been confirmed as of yet, nor has the presence of a Quinjet in the movie. The last time we saw a Quinjet is when Hulk commandeered one of these ships at the end ofAvengers: Age of Ultron, taking off for parts unknown, but it’s still possible that there could be a Quinjet inCaptain America: Civil War.
Another possibility is thatTom HollandandLouis D’Espositocould be on the Milano set fromGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which is getting ready to start production in Atlanta very soon. Then again,Spider-Manhasn’t been confirmed as part of this movie either, but since there is so little we know about this sequel, it’s possible that he could be a part of the movie. It’s also worth noting that, last month,Louis D’Espositoshared anotherphotowithTom Hollandon the set ofDoctor Strange, alongside directorScott Derrickson.
Kevin Feigepreviously teased that they have big plans forSpider-Manin the MCU, and it is widely believed that he will pop up in otherPhase Threemovies. Both Marvel and Sony are producing the newSpider-Manmovie, which has been set for release on June 28, 2025, which the studio just shifted from a August 13, 2025 date. It’s possible this photo could be taken from the set of this new stand alone movie, but it hasn’t been confirmed when production will actually get under way.Jon Wattsis directingSpider-Manfrom a script byJohn Francis DaleyandJonathan M. Do you have any theories about where this photo was taken? There are certainly several feasible possibilities, but don’t expect anyone from Marvel to confirm the setting of this photo. Many fans have been hoping to see a first look at the newSpider-Mancostume soon, butCaptain America: Civil WardirectorsJoe RussoandAnthony Russorecently teased that fans won’t get to see the new Spidey until their movie opens on May 6. While we wait for more details, take a look at this new image below.
