Mike Seibert and Keri Bean, both from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory give a joint talk on their missions and the relevant connection to the Star Wars Universe. Bean works on the Dawn mission in the asteroid belt, and Seibert works on the Mars Exploration Rover mission. The Dawn mission uses ion engines like TIE (Twin Ion Engine) Fighters and is just beginning to explore the icy dwarf planet Ceres, which has a lot of similarities to Hoth.
