But for those who only follow the live-action films, Ahsoka is a character they’re likely not too familiar with. The apprentice of Anakin Skywalker comes from the world ofStar Warsanimation and is now a major player in the “Mandoverse” being built on Disney+.

Now the lead of her own live-action series, Ahsoka continues her fight against the dark side asGrand Admiral Thrawn returnsto the galaxy. Tales of the Jedi (Episode 1: Life and Death)

The animatedStar Warsanthology series,Tales of the Jedi, opens with the birth of Ahsoka Tano. The first episode follows Pav-ti Tano as she discovers her daughter’s strong connection to the Force.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008 film)

2008’sStar Wars: The Clone Warsintroduces Ahsoka Tano as the Padawan learner to Anakin Skywalker. The animated film is set between the events ofEpisode II: Attack of the Clones(2002) andEpisode III: Revenge of the Sith(2005), serving as a pilot to the 2008 television series of the same name.Star Wars: The Clone Warsalso features the first canon appearance of Captain Rex, whom Ahsoka would fight alongside with in the 501st Legion.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Seasons 1-7)

The seven-seasonStar Wars: The Clone Warsgreatly expands on the world-building of the prequels, building complex narrative arcs, visiting a myriad of incredible planets, and introducing many great new characters. The series begins as “The Adventures of Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka” but grows with its audience, showcasing Anakin’s fall to the dark side as well as the transformation of the Galactic Republic into the Galactic Empire.

By the end of the series, however,Star Wars: The Clone Warsis about Ahsoka and Rex, who find themselves having to navigate a galaxy plunged into darkness. In the series' fifth season, Ahsoka is framed for a serious crime, leading to her losing faith in and ultimately leavingthe Jedi Order. The seventh season sees Ahsoka return to working with the Jedi, but before she can officially rejoin the Jedi Order, the Republic falls and the Jedi are forced into hiding.

Tales of the Jedi (Episode 6: Resolve)

After attending Padmé Amidala’s funeral, Ahsoka goes into hiding in a peaceful farming village. She leads a quiet life and keeps her Jedi past a secret, but eventually uses the Force to save a farmer’s life. Expecting to be rewarded, the farmer’s brother alerts the Empire of Ahsoka’s presence, only for his village to be burned, and his life ended by an Inquisitor. Ahsoka defeats the Inquisitor and leaves her civilian life behind to join the fight against the Empire.

Star Wars Rebels (Seasons 1-2, 4)

Ahsoka appears in Seasons 1, 2, and 4 ofStar Wars Rebels, where she firstmeetsAhsokacharactersSabine Wren, Ezra Bridger, Hera Syndulla, and Chopper. The finale of the second season features a duel betweenAhsoka and Darth Vaderin an ancient Sith temple. Ezra initially believes her to have perished during the duel, but inStar Wars Rebels' fourth season, he saves Ahsoka from the World Between Worlds.

At the end ofStar Wars Rebels, Ezra and Thrawn are taken into hyperspace by the purrgil whales, leaving them stranded in a distant galaxy. The series concludes with Sabine enlisting Ahsoka’s help to search for her Jedi friend. The Mandalorian (Season 2, Episode 5)

The fifth episode of the second season ofThe Mandalorian, “Chapter 13: The Jedi,” marks the live-action debut of Ahsoka Tano. The Mandalorian Din Djarin finds her on Corvus and asks her to train the Child in the ways of the Force. Ahsoka reveals the Child’s name is Grogu and refuses to train him due to his strong attachment to the Mandalorian. Having witnessed Anakin’s fall to the dark side, she views attachment as something that leaves one vulnerable to their fears and anger.

Unwilling to change her stance on training Grogu, Ahsoka redirects the Mandalorian to a Jedi temple on Tython, leading to him being found by Luke Skywalker. But before doing so, she teams up with Djarin to free Calodan from Morgan Elsbeth’s rule. Ahsoka battles and defeats Elsbeth, who recruits stronger allies when she returns in theAhsokaseries.

The Book of Boba Fett (Season 1, Episode 6)

In the sixth episode ofThe Book of Boba Fett, “Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger,” the Mandalorian arrives on Ossus to visit Grogu. Ahsoka warns him that seeing Grogu will only cause the youngling to struggle in his training. After the Mandalorian leaves, Ahsoka and Luke discuss Grogu’s bond with the Mandalorian and whether his heart is in his training. Luke offers him the choice between committing to his training or reuniting with the Mandalorian, to which Grogu chooses the latter.

“From the Desert Comes a Stranger” is the first time that Ahsoka and Luke interact on-screen. It appears likely the two will cross paths again in a Disney+ series or inDave Filoni’s upcoming movie.

Ahsokaintroduces a master-apprentice relationship between Ahsoka and Sabine, with Sabine having started her Jedi training some time afterStar Wars Rebels. Lightsaber-wielding mercenary Baylan Skoll and his apprentice Shin Hati work with Morgan Elsbeth to find Grand Admiral Thrawn. Ahsoka races to stop them, but Sabine has mixed feelings, holding on to her hope of being reunited with Ezra.
