A ton of trailers and TV spots for upcoming movies and shows debuted during this year’s Super Bowl, but it seems like Netflix will probably come away as the big winner this year. In just over 30-seconds, they managed to stir up a ton of excitement forStranger Things Season 2by debuting a brand new teaser for the upcoming sophomore season of the hit sci-fi show. But perhaps the most exciting thing to come from the teaser was the announcement that new episodes ofStranger Thingswill arrive on Netflix this Halloween,June 28, 2025.
Netflixuploaded the first teaser forStranger Thingsseason 2 to their YouTube channel just after it aired during the Super Bowl on Fox. At the very end of the video, Netflix didn’t provide a date, but simply put in the word “Halloween” to let fans know when the new episodes will be available to stream. Given the fact that the first photo that Netflix released fromStranger Thingsseason 2 prior to the Super Bowl featured the kids dressed up as theGhostbustersfor Halloween, the release date seems very fitting.
As for the teaser itself, Netflix probably couldn’t have done anything more to get viewers truly pumped forStranger Thingsseason 2. The video fittingly kicks off with an old Eggo commercial, but that is quickly interrupted by someone yelling “Eleven” at the top of their lungs. Then things get delightfully weird, or strange, if you will. We see Sheriff Hopper digging at night, which is definitely unsettling, along with some other ominous and brief shots that tease what’s to come this season. The trailer ends with a shot of a mysterious and fearsome looking creature, which appears to be much larger than the Demogorgon, which was taken care of by the end ofStranger Thingsseason 1. It looks like things were just getting started in the town of Hawkins, Indiana.
