Kate Bushhas become an overnight phenomenon almost four decades after bringing her unique and influential style and music into the world, all thanks to the inclusion of her songRunning Up That Hill (A Deal With God)being used inStranger Things’ fourth season. As one of the stars of the series,Sadie Sinkhas revealed that, like many younger fans of the show, she had never heard of the song or Kate Bush before she shot the latest season, but as the song hit number 1 in the U.K. singles chart and climbed to #4 in the U.S. Billboard Chart, the actress, like many others, has found it becoming a bit of an obsession.
In the last week, Kate Bush has found herself breaking a number of long-standing chart records, becoming the oldest female artist to reach #1 in the U.K. charts — beating Cher, who recently congratulated Bush on the achievement — and also having the longest period between a song being released and hitting the top of the U.K. chart. While speaking toVanity Fair, Sink explained how the song has now led her to discover more of the private singer’s work. She said:

“I did not know Kate Bush beforehand, but then I immediately skimmed through her work and then became increasingly more obsessed, and then I was listening to her all the time. Knowing the emotional connection that she has to that song and how it’s kind of her anthem, played into it," Sink said. “It’s something about the energy of the song, the synth and the lyrics and everything. It’s so perfect. They could not have picked a more perfect song.”
