Love it or hate it,Supergirlproved to be a big hit when it debuted on CBS this fall. While some fans have a few nitpicks with the show, others have gleefully given into this fun and colorful DC Comics adventure series. The show is currently on hiatus. But it promises to return this winter in a big way. Today, we have your first look with 11 never-before-seen photos.
These images come from Episode 9, titledBlood Bonds. In this latest installment, Astra is being held in captivity at the DEO. Her husband, Non (Chris Vance) has captured Hank, leading to a tense standoff between the two sides. Also, Kara continues to refute Cat’s allegations that she is Supergirl.

While there are certainly no shortage of villains forSupergirlto do battle with in National City, her rogue’s gallery is getting even bigger in the New Year.Entertainment Tonightreported earlier this month that Chasing Life starItalia Riccihas signed on to playDC Comicsvillain Siobhan Smythe, a.k.aSilver Banshee, in the hit CBS series. The actress will make her debut in the 14th episode ofSupergirl’s first season, which doesn’t have an air date quite yet.
In theDC Comics, the character was born Siobhan McDougal, whose family was part of an ancient Gaelic clan that inhabited an island between Scotland and Ireland for thousands of years. After her father’s death, she tried to take over the family clan by participating in a supernatural ritual, which was interrupted and sent her into an underworld. She was given new super powers by an entity known as The Crone, but demanded that she retrieve one of her father’s occult books. Upon learning that her late father’s collection was shipped to the United States, she arrived in Metropolis, where she clashed several times withSuperman.
The actress joins a growing list of guest stars includingPeter Facinelli(Maxwell Lord), Chris Browning (Reactron),Jenna Dewan-Tatum(Lucy Lane/Superwoman),Chris Vance(Non),Iddo Goldberg(Red Tornado) andBrit Morgan(Livewire). We reported last month that CBS issued afull season orderforSupergirl, extending its first season to 20 episodes. We also learned last month that the show is seeking actors to play Superman in a flashback sequence.
