Taylor Sheridanfans rarely feel they need to wait for an official confirmation that any of his shows have been renewed, because barring something earth-shattering – like his lead star riding into the sunset prematurely – the idea that Paramount would not want more is quite ludicrous.LandmanSeason 2 has yet to have the official nod from Paramount, but it seems that a filming date has already been set for the new episodes, suggesting that the series will be continuing regardless very soon.
The latest series in Sheridan’s sprawling myriad of hit shows,Landmanstars Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Jon Hamm, andDemi Moore in her first TV role. Set in a small town on the edge of a modern-day oil rig, the show delivered another incredible hit, and brought with it the same sweeping, high-drama that sustainedYellowstoneand its several spinoffs over multiple seasons. Now, thanks to a casting call for extras shared in theFort Worth Star-Telegram, the series is looking for two six month old boys, and stand-ins for the leads. The casting notice reveals that filming is expected to begin sometime later in March, and adds:

“We don’t have exact dates yet but he could be needed throughout filming on and off for a few weeks. Filming is Fort Worth in the Benbrook area.”

‘Landman’ Getting a Second Season Is Paramount’s Worst Kept Secret
Although fans of TV shows have become much more accustomed to expecting the worst for new shows, with streamers cancelling many series after just a single season. However,Landmanwas an incredible success, breaking records and continuing Sherdian’s dominance of Paramount+. The series landed a 78% Tomatometer score in Rotten Tomatoes, and proved that even though the creator had some issues withYellowstone, he has plenty of other irons in the fire.
Although it is always good to wait for an official confirmation before getting excited about a new season arriving, this new piece of casting information is certainly not the first sign of the series continuing. It has been two months since Demi Moore noted that she was “excited” to get started on the new series, and Thornton has also mentioned Sheridan’s plans for Season 2, scripting, and his enthusiasm for the show.

If filming does begin later this month, then it is likely that Season 2 ofLandmanwill debut sometime towards the end of the year. However it is not like fans of Sherdian don’t have enough to keep them occupied in the meantime.1923is currently in its second season,Tulsa Kingis set to release Season 3, andMayor of Kingstownhas a fourth season in production now. All of this, alongside otherYellowstoneoffshoots likeThe Madison, should be more than enough to keep everyone satisfied.
