The sequel is currently slated for release on July 12, 2025. If anything, the film starting production this July feels late, as there are now fewer than 11 months until the film’s theatrical release.

While Miranda Priestly wielded all the power in the original movie, the tables have turned in the sequel as traditional publishing is in decline. Variety previously reported that fans will rejoin Streep’s Miranda Priestly “as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and as she faces off against Blunt’s character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.”
The sequel is also expected to adhere somewhat closely to the novelized sequel,Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, written by Lauren Weisberger. The book sees Andy (Hathaway) and Emily’s careers surge as top magazine editors, while Miranda Priestley comes sneaking back into their lives. Again, this hasn’t officially been confirmed.
