During an exciting appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con, the studio behindThe Flashfinally gave us the trailer to Season 6, and it hints at a darker, thrilling show. The new Comic-Con trailer opens with an ominous voiceover, introducing us to the iconic DC character Ramsey Rosso played byBonesstar Sendhil Ramamurthy. Rosso is a former colleague of Caitlin Snow turned villain Bloodwork.
As we see in this first look footage fromSDCC, Rosso, bent on eliminating death, poses a new challenge for Team Flash who is likely still reeling from the events of the season 5 finale. Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) took the cure and will now return to his role as expert man-behind-the-technology, while Caitlin’s (Danielle Panabaker)Killer Frostis seen standing with the team.
Unfortunately, we didn’t learn much about the new iteration of Wells that will grace our small screens this season, but I’m looking forward to whatever Tom Cavanaugh’s acting choices will be. Overall, If the black goo on the title is any indication, the first half ofThe Flashis going to be a sinister one.
The Flashfollows CSI InvestigatorBarry Allen, who after a particle accelerator explodes falls into a coma. The plot begins when he wakes up with the power of super speed. The show about the fastest man alive was spawned out of CW’sArrowseason 2, and has always been the fun, lighthearted show despite its melodrama storylines. We’ve seen him jump through time, get trapped in a speed force, fight an intelligent gorilla and unmask plenty of speedsters, but season 5 gave us a particularly difficult time for the character. After defeating two versions ofCicada(Chris Klein and Sarah Carter), Barry and his wife Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton) must say goodbye to their daughter, Nora, (Jessica Parker Kennedy). The main driving force, however, is the knowledge that Barry Allen is going to disappear during a “crisis” in 2019.
The CW’s Arrowverse Comic-con panels were full of reveals and announcements this weekend, and all roads seem to lead to theEndgame-esque “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event. The culminating event will span episodes ofThe Flash,Arrow,Supergirl,Batwoman, andDC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Because this is the eighth and final season forArrow, the show that started it all, this event is being treated with special attention.Arrowexecutive producer, Marc Guggenheim, had this to say to comicbook.com.
“We’re gonna begin the way ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ the comic begins, which is the destruction of various parallel universes. And the goal is for us to adapt key moments from the comic, those seminal moments,”
Despite Guggenheim’s statement thatArrowwill experience the most consequences from the events of “Crisis”, the stakes are high for the scarlet speedster, and we wait nervously to see how it will turn out. Check back with us for all of your upcoming Arrowverse coverage.
