Theexciting footagesees Noah Wyle’s Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch and the rest of his crew back in action almost a year after the events of the first season, handling the chaos of the Fourth of July weekend. HBO Max released a one-minute-long teaser forThe PittSeason 2, which stars Wyle as Robinavitch, Sepideh Moafi as Dr. Al-Hashimi, Patrick Ball as Dr. Langdon, Supriya Ganesh as Dr. Mohan, Fiona Dourif as Dr. McKay, Taylor Dearden as Dr. King, Isa Briones as Dr. Santos, Gerran Howell as Whitaker, Shabana Azeez as Javadi, and Katherine LaNasa as Dana Evans. The brief teaser does little to reveal major plot points, but it seems both Robinavitch and Langdon are returning to the hospital after spending time working on themselves. You can check out the teaser trailer below.

The footage confirms that fan-favorite Dana Evans made the decision to return to the ER after the traumatic events of the first season. Still, expect her potential retirement to be a plot point again, as showrunner R. Scott Gemmillpreviously teasedthat there might be a specific reason why Evans is back on the frontlines. The Fourth of July weekend seems to be the inciting incident that will bring everyone together once more, as well as introduce new doctors to help out with what is sure to be an eventful shift at the hospital. Why Isn’t Heather Collins in ‘The Pitt’ Season 2?
One of the biggest surprises forThe PittSeason 2 was the unexpected announcement that Tracy Ifeachor was not returning as Dr. Heather Collins. Although she was absent in the final few episodes of Season 1, Collins was introduced as one of the main characters alongside Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch (Noah Wyle). Her past romantic relationship with Robinavitch, as well as the miscarriage she had during her shift at the ER, were major plot points. The truly disappointing part is that fans are still not sure why Collins won’t be returning, as it has not been fully explained by the crew behindThe Pitt.
Of course, when the news dropped that Ifeachor was not returning for the second season, speculation was rampant online. From potential ties to an ultraconservative church to creative differences, fans could not help but attempt to connect the dots. The Pittstar Noah Wyleattempted to water the conspiratorial flamesby revealing that she had gotten “really big” as an actress, possibly referring to the fact she was cast in M. Night Shyamalan’s new psychological thriller.

“We’ve all been sort of amused by the speculation about what everybody thinks might be a reason. But truthfully, we loved the actress. We enjoyed having her with us very much. She’s gotten really big, and we will miss her.”
Remain, which also stars Jake Gyllenhaal, recently wrapped filming, so it could have interfered withThe Pitt’sshooting schedule. Still, it remains to be seen if the decision not to bring her back was made due to a scheduling conflict, or otherwise.
