Jason Momoa will be playing himself onThe Simpsonsin an upcoming episode. The long-running show has released a first-look image at theAquamanactor in cartoon form and he looks very much like he does in real-life, complete with his iconic arm tattoo. Hopefully nobody will body shame the cartoon version of Momoa like they have been doing with the actor’s current physique. Obviously, Momoa is in excellent shape, but some delusional folks on social media claim he has a “dad bod.”

Jason Momoawill appear at the San Castellaneta festival (Homer Simpson voice actor’s name is Dan Castellaneta) in an upcoming episode ofThe Simpsons. The new season premieres in September, but it’s not clear which episode he will be in. Executive producer Al Jean revealed the circumstances surrounding Momoa’s first time on the iconic animated show. He had this to say.

“He is the celebrity that shows up and talks about this legend of this saint who was ground up and martyred and became the origin of modern-day pistachio ice cream. He tells this very gruesome story - and thenPatty and Selmawant him to sign their boobs and he runs away.”

It’s already pretty funny to think of theAquamanstar running away from Patty and Selma. The Simpsonsis gearing up for its 31 season and will be down in San Diego atComic-Conto promote it this Friday. In addition to Momoa,Better Call Saulstar Bob Odenkirk will also be a guest during the upcoming season. However he was reportedly a lot easier to get ahold of than Momoa was to come record his lines for the episode. Al Jean explains.

“We would hear, ‘Oh, he’s filming on a top of a mountain or he’s filming under the water. It was hard to get him in a studio that was within the terrestrial realm.”

For their annualTreehouse of Horror,The Simpsonswill be taking on Netflix’sStranger Things. A poster for the event was released and it should be something they put up for sale in terms of how awesome it looks. It couldn’t come at a more perfect time asStranger Thingsis back to being one of the biggest things in the entertainment business. Hopefully there will still be some juice left over by the time Treehouse of Horror XXX comes along this fall.

John Mulaney and Dr. Jane Goodall are some other special guests that will visit Springfield whenThe Simpsonsreturns for season 31 in September. There will more than likely be some more news announcements at Comic-Con this Friday, so keep your eyes peeled for more information on what seems like will be an epic 31st season for the long-running animated series.
