The Sopranoschanged television forever. With some of the firstantihero protagonists on TV, the show also broke stereotypes of what the audience was accustomed to seeing on television and what mobsters and families were really like. To this day some considerThe Sopranosto be one ofthe best shows ever made. The last episode of the show aired back in 2007, and since then, the fans have been wanting more. So much so that the prequel,The Many Saints of Newark, aired last year.
Since the end of the show, the actors that became so beloved have continued their careers, most in the entertainment industry, and some decided to start different paths. After watching themfor six seasons, there is no denying that a bond has been formed, even if it’s more with the characters than the actors themselves. Nevertheless, after watching these actors transform themselves and give life to some of the best characters on the history of television, there is a fondness created between them and the viewer. Either way, it’s always nice to know what happened to them after such a tremendous show ended.

Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini)
Tony Soprano, a mobster thatsuffers from anxiety, is played brilliantly by actor James Gandolfini. Gandolfini continued his career producing various HBO movies and series. He even starred in a few other mob-related projects, such asThe Drop. Unfortunately, the actor who plays Tony Soprano passed away due to a heart attack in 2013. He was addicted to alcohol and cocaine, so much so that the producers of the HBO showfeared that he would dieduring the shooting of the series.
Carmela Soprano (Edie Falco)
Carmela Soprano is played by Edie Falco, who won three Emmy Awards during her run onThe Sopranos. Since the end of the show, Edie has received another Emmy (and five more nominations) for her part inNurse Jackie. She was a part of several television shows, includingLaw & Order. Falco was a part of the third season ofAmerican Crime Story,Impeachment, where she played the role of Hilary Clinton. The actress is also in bothAvatar2 and 3, which are currently in post-production.

Meadow Soprano (Jamie-Lynn Sigler)
The oldest daughter of the Sopranos is played by Jamie-Lynn Sigler. The actress has been in various projects, and is very open about her personal life: she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 20. Sigler uses her platform to be candid about her disease and how it affected her life, including her view of motherhood. She worked onthe seriesBig Skyand has also been a part of a short film released this year,I’m on Fire.
A.J. Soprano (Robert Iler)
The son of Tony and Carmela A.J. is played by Robert Iler. Since the end of the show, Iler was a part of oneLaw & Orderepisode, but his acting career stopped there. He has decided to pursue a career as a professional poker player instead of acting. Iler is also the co-host of a multi-subject podcast,Pajama Pants. Jamie-Lynn has been a guest on the podcast multiple times.

Jennifer Melfi (Lorraine Bracco)
Jennifer Melfi, Tony Soprano’s therapist, is played by Lorraine Bracco. The actress was already well known, especiallyin gangster movies, as she starred inGoodfellas. AfterThe Sopranosended, she was a part of a few shows:Blue Bloods,Rizzoli & Isles, and more. The actress voices another therapist, this time a couple’s therapist, in the animated seriesBoJack Horseman.In 2022 Bracco voiced Sofia in the newPinocchiomovie and starred in the filmJacir. She also has one movie,Boys of Summer,currently in post-production.
Adriana La Cerva (Drea de Matteo)
The ruthless Adriana La Cerva is played by Drea de Matteo. She had multiple roles afterThe Sopranos, including in shows likeSons of AnarchyandDesperate Housewives. She is the co-host of a podcast,Made Women, where she talks aboutThe Sopranos,focusing on her behind-the-scene experience on set. De Matteo also has a mob-themed wine, Gangster Goddess Broad-Cast Pinot Noir. This year she has been in multiple movies, includingOne Way, Collide,andSafe Room.
Christopher Moltisanti (Michael Imperioli)
Christopher Moltisanti is played by Michael Imperioli. The actor interpreted the role again in 2021: he was the narrator ofThe Sopranos' prequel,The Many Saints of Newark. The actor also wrote a book and co-hosts a podcast about the show. On the screen, Imperioli became known for interpreting detective roles. He starred in the Academy Award-winnerOne Night In Miamiand in thebrilliant recent seriesWhite Lotus.
Paulie Gualtieri (Tony Sirico)
An important part of Tony Soprano’s crew Paulie Gualtieri is played by Tony Sirico. The actor was always brilliant as a tough guy, but had a great sense of humor, as evidenced by his frequent roles in Woody Allen films ever since 1994’sBullets Over Broadway. Sirico starred in some movies afterThe Sopranos, the most well-known ones being Woody Allen’sCafé SocietyandWonder Wheel. He did some voice work with Seth MacFarlane as well, as the character of Vinny onFamily Guyand Enzo Perotti inAmerican Dad. Sadly,Sirico passed awayin July 2022.
Silvio Dante (Steven Van Zandt)
Silvio Dante, a part of Tony’s inner circle, is played by Steven Van Zandt. The delightful actor and musician continued with mob-related roles and even starred inMartin Scorsese’s filmThe Irishman. Zandt did some projects with Netflix, includingThe Christmas Chroniclesand the very first exclusive streaming content Netflix purchased, the internationalTV seriesLilyhammerandThe Christmas Chronicles. He is the guitarist of Bruce Springsteens' band and released a memoir last year,Unrequited Infatuations.
