Former sheriff Rick is on high alert as more dangers come his way this fall. The Walking Deadfinally returns from its long hiatus on October 11, and it’s not just zombies our beloved (and sometimes very hated) survivors will have to worry about. A new banner style poster has arrived to announce these all-new episodes, and we find a bruised and batterAndrew Lincolnstanding guard as threats come in at all sides, with even some of his most trusty friends questioning his tactics.

Late last month, AMC released two new trailers forThe Walking Dead Season 6. They highlighted some of the new arrivals inAlexandriathis year. Incoming cast members include Ethan Embry’s Carter, who, as we saw inThe Walking Dead Season 6trailer released atComic-Conlast month, isn’t a big fan of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln). Other new characters areMerritt Wever’s Dr. Denise Cloyd andCorey Antonio Hawkins' Heath, an Alexandria supply runner. Along with the trailer, we also have news of yet another new casting addition. Showrunner Scott M. Gimple revealed during an unaired bonus scene of Sunday’sTalking Deadspecial that Kenric Green has signed on to play Scott, a character from the comics. Here’s what the showrunner had to say about the role.

The Walking Dead Season 6 Poster

“Scott is a character from the comic, played by Kenric Green,Sonequa Martin-Green’s husband. He’s fantastic, and it’s cool to see another character from the book come to life, and that’s probably all I should say.”

The Walking Deadalso starsChandler Riggsas Carl,Danai GuriraasMichonne, Melissa McBride as Carol,Sonequa Martin-Greenas Sasha,Lauren Cohanas Maggie,Steven Yeunas Glenn,Norman Reedusas Daryl,Lennie Jamesas Morgan,Seth Gilliamas Father Gabriel,Michael Cudlitzas Abraham, Josh McDermitt as Eugene, Alanna Masterson as Tara,Christian Serratosas Rosita, Tovah Feldshuh as Deanna,Ross Marquandas Aaron,Alexandra Breckenridgeas Jesse, and Austin Nichols as Spencer.

A report fromTV Lineearlier this week claims thatThe Walking Deadis “quietly casting” a character named “Rich,” whose description is quite similar to Negan from thecomic books. “Rich” is described as a fifty-something narcissist who has an angry streak, the charm of a Senator and the charisma of a car salesman. All of these characteristics fit Negan to a T, but, in the comics, the villain is actually a bit younger. On the page, Negan is in his late 30s to early 40s, and it isn’t known why they would make him at least 10 years older in the TV series. Is it possible that the series will finally introduce the long-awaited fan-favorite character of Negan? If the show is actually considering it, then it could mean the end of a beloved character on the hitzombieseries.SPOILER!In the comics, Negan is responsible for the death of Glenn (Steven Yeun). This death could provide a shocking end to Season 6 in the finale.

The show is seeking actors to play a married couple named Kirk and Hilda, with fans speculating that this couple is Dwight and Sherry from the comics. If Kirk and Hilda do turn out to be Dwight and Sherry, it may be another sign thatNeganis coming aboard, since that couple isn’t introduced in the comics until after Negan surfaces. We’ve included the previous trailers, along with a scene from Sunday night’sTalking Dead, where Scott M. Gimple reveals Kenric Green has been cast for upcoming episodes. Are you looking forward toThe Walking Dead’s return this fall?
