Marvel fans clearly can not get enough Spider-Man as a new movement has been launched on social media for Sony to finally develop Sam Raimi’sSpider-Man 4. At one point in time, Raimi was planning to make the fourth movie with Tobey Maguire returning as Peter Parker. The sequel was shelved before production could begin, leading to the eventual reboots with Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland.
For better or for worse, it seemed likeSpider-Man 4would never be made, especially as each newSpider-Manmovie was released. Now, the web-slinger is more popular than ever with the immense success of the newest filmSpider-Man: No Way Home. The movie also blasted the doors wide open to revisit characters and storylines from previous film franchises, andNo Way Homewriters Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers have endorsed the idea of Maguire and Garfield getting new movies with their respective Spider-Men.

Hoping to see more of the Raimiverse explored in a new film, fans have been joining the social media movement forSpider-Man 4by using the hashtag #MakeRaimiSpiderMan4. While it remains to be seen if this will convince Sony to get to work on the sequel, the hashtag is trending as more and more fans call for the sequel to be made. No matter what happens, you can’t blame the fans for trying, given that the popular campaign for Warner Bros. to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut was ultimately successful.

Fans Also Want Andrew Garfield’s Return in The Amazing Spider-Man 3
Many fans also want to see Andrew Garfield finally get his own third movie as he’s the only one of the three big screen Spider-Men not to have his own trilogy. #TheAmazingSpiderMan3 has also been trending lately andmany artists have been creating their own postersimagining the sequel. To that end, some fans also want to see Emma Stone get her ownSpider-Gwenfilm.
The heavy focus on the multiverse inSpider-Man: No Way Homeplays a big part in these renewed fan campaigns. As seen in the trailers before its release, the new movie has Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) looking to make everyone forget Spider-Man’s true identity. It brings about major consequences with villains who died fighting Spider-Man in other universes confronting the MCU’s web-slinger.

There’s no indication at this time thatThe Amazing Spider-Man 3or Sam Raimi’sSpider-Man 4will see the light of day. The latest that we’ve heard on Spidey is that Sony and Marvel are looking to bring back Holland for another trilogy. That does seem to be the most logical place to go afterNo Way Homeshattered box office records with Holland in the lead.
Even if Holland returns for moreSpider-Manmovies, that doesn’t necessarily mean the other Spider-Men can’t get their own continuations. Looking over at what’s happening with DC and Warner Bros., they’ll be having multiple versions of Batman getting explored with Michael Keaton’s Batman appearing in multiple projects while Robert Pattinson’s version will star in the unrelated filmThe Batman. Let’s not forget Ben Affleck’s Batman will also appear inThe Flash. Having multipleSpider-Manuniverses as well doesn’t seem so strange.
