Tom Hollandis one of the biggest box-office draws available in Hollywood. The actor, who started in his native Britain on the stageplaying Billy Elliot, has become one of the greatest safe bets in the industry, as his movies usually get people to the cinema. Playing both Spider-Man and Nathan Drake has helped for sure, but Holland is very charismatic and charming, and his “everything is great, and I can’t believe this is happening” persona is very endearing. He’s also been expanding his wings and trying more unique and challenging projects in both TV and film.
Right now he’s taking a deserved break from shooting movies, but there are already rumblings about what will probably be his next two projects, and both should work great at the box office; a new Spider-Man film, and a Fred Astaire biopic. While audiences wait for those, here are Tom Holland’s top 10 movies, ranked by worldwide box-office numbers according toBox Office Mojo.

10Spies in Disguise (2019) — $171.6 Million

When Lance is turned into a pigeon, he must rely on Walter to save the world as they change places and Walter must become the spy.
What Makes It Great
The script has a lot of fun with the concept of a pigeon spy, and Smith and Holland have great chemistry together as the two leads. Even acting only with his voice, theSpider-Manactor is able to convey all his smarts, angst, and how out of place he feels in the spy world, making a great contrast with the always smooth Smith, and a fun mismatch of a team.

9The Impossible (2012) — $198 Million
The Impossible
The Impossibletells the story of a family who is spending their holidays in Thailand. When a tsunami occurs, Henry (Ewan McGregor) and Maria (Naomi Watts) will do everything they can to find their three kids during the chaos in the aftermath. The movie’s plot is based on a real story and is as scary and thrilling as they come.
This isa film worth revisiting, as Holland had his first role ever in a film, and proved he was destined for bigger and more successful box-office hits. Here, he plays Lucas, the older sibling of the three kids. The film is crafty, and director J.A. Bayona (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) and all the actors give it their all, making a stressful viewing experience, one where Holland proved he could hold his ground against much bigger and experienced actors like McGregor and Watts.

8Dolittle (2020) — $251.4 Million
Read Our Review
Dolittleis all about the story of the lead character of the same name, played by Robert Downey Jr., someone who can talk to animals and decides to go to a mysterious island to find a unique healing tree that might save Queen Victoria (Jessie Buckley) from her death.
It still feels strange that Downey Jr. decided to do this movie as his first after his time in the MCU, and probably just wanted to make a film that kids could see. What’s for sure is that the relationship between the actor and Tom Holland might be closer to their Iron Man-Spider-Man interactions than we thought, as the “Spidey” actor appears here to support his friend, voicing Jip, a glasses-wearing dog.

Holland plays the lead character, Nathan Drake, with all the charisma and stunt work it deserves, and his chemistry and bantering with Wahlberg is the funniest thing in the whole film. A lot of incredible stunts (some recreating the best scenes in the video games), world traveling, and smart code decyphering make this movie the best of its kind since the originalNational Treasure. So much so, that there’s still thepossibility of a sequel.
6Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) — $880.1 Million
spider-man homecoming
Spider-Man: Homecomingwas the first Spider-Man film in the trilogy, the one where Peter Parker is still learning to use his powers and understand how to do his hero’s duties while still going to class. This movie benefits greatly from having Robert Downey Jr. as it makes the bond between Tony Stark and Peter Parker stronger, something that in the future will become one of the greatest relationships in the whole MCU.
The script captures perfectly the comics’ Spider-Man spirit and ethos, and Holland transforms into him with ease. This is a low-stakes villain, butone of the best in the MCU, and the fact that he’s Peter Parker’s crush’s father only makes it better. When you’re a teenager, nothing scares you more than the parents of the person you’re falling for, and this premise mixes the two sides of his life perfectly.

This movie is the one that reflects better on what has always made Peter Parker a relatable hero, his alter ego keeps messing with his personal life. All he wants is to tell a girl that he likes her, but he has to fight Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) after the villain tricks him into giving him Stark technology. The final revelation of the film, explained byJ. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons)is also great and gives a motivation for what happens in the third film in the trilogy.
4Captain America: Civil War (2016) — $1,155 Billion
captain america 3
Captain America: Civil Warhas many good things going for it; heroes fighting with each other for a cause they believe in, a sympathetic villain and the introduction of two characters who became very important in the next few years, Black Panther and Spider-Man.
The whole fight in the airport is incredible, and the first time that the MCU showed how using many heroes in one film had a lot of power and possibilities. Holland does well in his first outing as “Spidey," already showing some of the characteristics that make him one of the best characters; from his enthusiasm for everything technological to some sarcasm, and a sense of wonderment, as he still can’t believe he’s there fighting other superheroes.

3Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) — $1,921 Billion
Spider-Man 3 / Spider-Man: No Way Home
Spider-Man: No Way Homeis the third entry in the MCU’sSpider-Manfranchise, the one where heroes and villains from other previous movies (and universes) help or hinder Peter Parker’s Spider-Man. Fans were thrilled to see that this movie also included the two previous Spider-Men, Tobey Maguireand Andrew Garfield.
Once the other Spider-Men appear, the movie goes up a notch both in stakes and in comedy, creating a fun trio. Holland gets his best moments as Peter Parker, as tragedy finds him once more, and he must say goodbye to his aunt May (Marisa Tomei). The rage this brings him almost takes him to the dark side, looking for revenge on Norman Osborne (Willem Defoe). The moment he decides not to tell MJ (Zendaya) who he is after she has forgotten him, is also one of his best acting moments ever.
2Avengers: Infinity War (2018) — $2,052 Billion
Avengers 4
Avengers: Infinity Waris the first battle against Thanos (Josh Brolin) that ends very badly for many of the heroes, including Peter Parker. Before that, the movie uses all his heroes perfectly, and Holland’s chemistry with both Robert Downey Jr and Benedict Cumberbatch and their characters interacting get some of the biggest laughs.
The whole movie is great, with some incredible fights, especially in Wakanda, and the dramatic death of Gamora (Zoe Saldana), the only person Thanos cares about. Holland steals the movie with his death scene as Peter Parker starts feeling bad and doesn’t want to go, crushing audiences and Iron Man’s hearts in the process. This might be one of the biggest moments of acting by Holland as Spider-Man, and he absolutely knocked it out of the park.
1Avengers: Endgame (2019) — $2,799 Billion
Avengers: Endgame
Avengers: Endgamewas the culmination of 10 years of work in the MCU as every hero audiences have met in this universe united to fight the one and only Thanos. To get to that impressive incredible fight, first, the surviving heroes from the last film must do a time heist to get all the Infinity Stones and reverse the killing of half of the lives in the universe made by the mad titan.
Everything. There are many great beats in the movie, especially in the final epic battle, so much so thatthe movie had to be seen in a theaterto experience in communion incredible moments like Captain America (Chris Evans) getting Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) hammer or the “Avengers Assemble” shout to fight. Holland is part of two of those memorable scenes, once when he passes through a portal as the last big hero to arrive, and after that with one last conversation with his hero Tony Stark who has just sacrificed himself to save humanity.
