Last November, Pixar made the announcementToy Storyfans had been waiting for, revealing thatToy Story 4is finally happening. Today we have word that the studio has begun casting, with Oscar-winning actressPatricia Arquetteentering talks to join the voice cast.The Wrapreports thatPatricia Arquettewill play a laid-back hippie mother in theanimated sequel, although no further character details were given.

WhenToy Story 3was released in 2010, the studio revealed that would be the final feature-length movie in the series. The voice cast did reunite several times for a number of short films and animated TV specials such asToy Story: Small Fry,Toy Story: Hawaiian Vacation,Toy Story: Partysaurus Rex,Toy Story of Terror!andToy Story That Time Forgot.Tom HanksandTim Allenare reprising their roles as Woody and Buzz Lightyear, alongsideDon RicklesasMr. Potato HeadandAnnie PottsasBo Peep.

DirectorJohn Lasseterconfirmed at theD23 Expothis summer that the sequel will be a love story, where Woody and Bo Peep fall for one another. The story follows Bo Peep who gets either lost or sold at a garage sale, causing Woody and Buzz to go on a mission to find her, where they run into a slew of new characters. It has also been confirmed that this will not be connected to the first trilogy, including 1995’sToy Story, 1999’sToy Story 2and 2010’sToy Story 3, withToy Story 4telling a completely new story that may be expanded in forthcoming sequels.

John Lasseteris directing, withJosh Cooleyserving as co-director.Rashida Jonesand Will McCormack wrote the screenplay, based on a story concocted by the Pixar brain trust ofLasseter,Andrew Stanton,Pete DocterandLee Unkrich, with Galyn Susman producing. The sequel was recently pushed from its June 16, 2017release dateto June 18, 2025.

Patricia Arquettewon her first Oscar earlier this year for her performance in Best Picture nomineeBoyhood. She will next be seen on the big screen inThe Wannabe, arriving in theaters December 4. The actress currently stars on the hit CBS series CSI: Cyber, which debuted in midseason back in March and is currently airing its second season.
