Though 2021’sSnake Eyeswas set to kick off a new beginning for theG.I. Joefranchise, Robert Schwentke’s film ended up being a box office flop that didn’t even bring in half its budget. That didn’t stop Paramount from teasing a long-awaited crossover between the elite Special Forces unit and theTransformers, as 2023’sTransformers: Rise of the Beastssaw an ending that hinted at a possible union between the two. There hasn’t been much in the way of news since, butSnake EyesstarHenry Goldinghas offered somewhat of an update that promises a joint venture is still to come.
Speaking withComicBook.comto promote his new film,The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Golding told that outlet that he believes Paramount still has “grand plans” tobring the two franchises togetheronce and for all. However, he doesn’t know when that will happen, given that producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is a busy man. Check out Golding’s full comments below.

“I mean, Lorenzo di Bonaventura is a busy man and a phenomenal producer, and it’s in safe hands. Whatever happens, I think it’s going to be a combination of what has come and what is to come. I think Paramount have some grand, grand plans.”
Snake Eyes
A G.I. Joe spin-off centered around the character of Snake Eyes.
For his part, di Bonaventura also spoke to ComicBook.com back in February 2024 and echoed Golding’s sentiments on a potentialG.I. Joe/Transformerscrossover, but at that time, the producer admitted he had no idea what its current state of affairs was, and could only promise that it will eventually happen.

“The honest truth is I don’t know. I know we are going to deliver on the promise we made.”
A G.I. Joe/Transformers Crossover Was Tentatively Scheduled for 2025
Though at the moment no one seems to know what’s going on with aG.I. JoeandTransformersshared universe film, back in mid-2023, di Bonaventura revealed that a script for the moviewas about to be written, which could have meant a 2025 release for the film. Unfortunately, the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes happened before everything could be put in motion, and plans at that time were scraped. Check out his comments on the matter below, which he hints at a potential 2026 release instead.
“It’s a good question. We were about to start a script when the writers’ strike happened. So, our hope was we were going to have it for 2025, but I think the longer the strike goes on, the more it puts it in 2026.”

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Crossover Explained By Director
The director of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts explained that wild crossover ending, how it came about, and the potential Hasbro Cinematic Universe.
With no news being offered by Paramount, and di Bonaventura himself seemingly in the dark at the moment as to what’s going on, it appears as if fans of the Hasbro creations will have to wait even longer now to see their beloved franchises share the screen for a feature-length film. However, fans ofTransformerswon’t have to wait long for another installment in the long-running series, as the animated film,Transformers One,which stars Scarlett Johannson, is set to hit theaters on August 05, 2025.
