Transformers 5is shaping up to be a big family affair, and could serve as the trueTransformersreunion movie that fans have been waiting for. First it was announced on Monday that this latest sequel is officially titledTransformers: The Last Knight. Then Paramount and Hasbro confirmed yesterday that originalTransformersstarJosh Duhamelis returning in the role of Lieutenant Colonel Lennox. Now, his partner in crimeTyrese Gibsonis literally begging to be let back in.
Yes,Gibson, who plays Epps in the franchise, sent a couple of videos to directorMichael Bayliterally hounding the filmmaker to write him into the script. While the actor hasn’t been officially confirmed to return, it’s likely that he’ll be back. As it wasBaywho posted these playful videos on his ownInstagramaccount. His response.
“Tyrese is getting itchy to be back! I’m thinking…”
Well, what is he thinking? We’re not sure yet. He’s either thinking about how to incorporate Epps back into the screenplay, which is finished. Or he’s thinking if he should letTyreseback in the big game at all. Normally, we wouldn’t think that he’d make a public display of it ifGibsonwasn’t coming back. But then again, this isMichael Bay. He could be floating the idea out there to see how fans respond. Or he could just be torturing his actors in public. Which he often likes to do.
Tyrese Gibsonhas been with theTransformersmovies from the get-go, starring in the first live-action entry way back in 2007. He was first introduced as USAF Tech Sergeant Epps, but was then promoted to USAF Chief Master Sergeant Epps for 2009’sRevenge of the Fallen. When he returned forDark of the Moonin 2011, he was simply billed as Epps. Why does the actor want to return so bad? He explains in the two videos.
“Mike Bay, I’m ready. Some people are asking me, Why do I want to come back and do Transformers so bad? Because it’s a high for me. You crazy? All of the action, all of the big scenes, all of the magical st that’s going on in your head. Being able to experience that st, man, it’s a lot of fun for me. I want back into my original family: Transformers. Stop bulls**ttin', Mike. Pull the trigger, put the word out, write the character back into the movie and let’s get it on.”
