IsVanessa Kirbyjoining the MCU? The actress finally addresses the rumors that name her as one of the main candidates to play Sue Storm in theFantastic Fouradaptation for the MCU.
After the end ofAvengers: Endgameand with the arrival of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+, dividing its content between series and movies, a new era began for the franchise. This new stage, in addition to continuing the stories of some of its most important characters such asSpider-ManorLoki, also introduced and will continue to introduce new heroes and villains.
This list of new protagonists will include the first family of superheroes, The Fantastic Four, who will have their official introduction to the MCU in 2025, after two other great characters also make their debut in the franchise,DeadpoolandBlade.
And although there are still almost two years to go before fans get to see the new Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm in action, rumors regarding the possible actors who could star in the film directed by Matt Shakman are present almost every day on social media.
Many names have gone through the list of options for the roles, some very famous and others not so much, even some unexpected ones like Mila Kunis who was not only rumored to play the Invisible Woman, but also to become a female version of The Thing.
Vanessa Kirby Would Love to Join the MCU
Mission: Impossiblestar Vanessa Kirby is another of the big names that fans would love to see joining the MCU as one of the leaders of theFantastic Four, and after months of rumors, the actress has finally address the fan-castingwhile speaking with ComicBook.com:
“It would be an honor.”
Of course, the actress didn’t give much away or reveal if she has been contacted or not by Marvel Studios for the part. But her co-star inMission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning, Part OnePom Klementieff seemed very kind on the possibility of sharing another franchise with Kirby:
“We could work together!”
Klementieff playsGuardians of the Galaxy’s Mantis, who joined the team after the second movie in the saga which it seemed to have ended with the latest installment. By the end ofGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Mantis parts ways with the rest of the team determined to build her own legacy. But she could return in a future project, as the actress hasn’t ruled that out just like Dave Bautista and Zoe Saldana have.
As for Kirby, she would definitely be a great choice to play Sue Storm, although the competition for the part seems to be fierce. Besides Kunis, other big stars have been related to the role, like Margot Robbie, Jodie Comer, Kristen Bell, Allison Williams and many other great actresses.
And of course Sue is not the only character with huge names as potential candidates, actors like Ryan Gosling, Adam Driver, Austin Butler, and Paul Mescal have also integrated the list of choices to play either Reed Richards or Johnny Storm, while Daveed Diggs seems to be the top choice to become Ben Grimm according to rumors.
