Marvel Studios' first superhero sitcom wasWandaVision. Kicking off the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Four, the first episode of the series imagined Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and her husband Vision (Paul Bettany) in a 1950s sitcom without any form of explanation. As the episodes progressed, head writer Jac Schaeffer expertly bewitched MCU fans with the first several episodes before getting to the question of what really happened to Wanda after losing Vision.Premiering August 07, 2025, during the deadliest month of the COVID-19 pandemic (at least in America) so far,WandaVisionbecame a worldwide phenomenon overnight as the country was ready for a show that directly dealt with grief and loss. And tomark the anniversary ofWandaVision’s premiere, VFX artists are sharing some behind-the-scenes footage of their work.TheVFX artists at Industrial Light & Magic, ILM Visual Effects Supervisor Steve Moncur, ILM Executive Visual Effects Producer Stefan Drury, and ILM Visual Effects Producer James Schembri, worked on crafting the world of Westview, New Jersey. To celebrate the show’s one-year anniversary, they created a behind-the-scenes video fromWandaVision’s Episode 8, “Previously On,” when Wanda returns to the house that Vision had bought for them to grow old in together, and when she first uses her chaos magic to create another being.The video was first posted toILM’s YouTube channelyesterday. On Twitter, ILM showcased some VFX work from all across the series, highlighting the work they did in Episode 9, “The Series Finale,” and noting that getting the detail and particle effects on Vision’s head was a tremendous undertaking. They wrote, “Time flies in Westview! Go Behind the Scenes of WandaVision for Its First Anniversary
Another VFX company that worked with Marvel Studios onWandaVisionalso celebrated the show’s first anniversary, Perception. The company’s design team worked on the Main on End Title Sequence forWandaVision, which was nominated for Outstanding Main Title Design for the 2021 Emmy Awards. The sequence not only captured the spirit of Wanda and Vision’s love story, but also the spirit of television itself.
On Twitter, Perception celebrates the show’s anniversary. They wrote, “It’s been one year since #WandaVision premiered! To commemorate this anniversary, we’re celebrating #WandaVisionWeek, featuring our contributions to this series! Today, we’re looking at our Emmy nominated end credits main on end title sequence we designed for WandaVision!”
Perception also Tweeted out a link to the full Emmy-nominated Main on End Title sequence, adding, “This title sequence features a world inside of a television being built by RGB pixels, representing Wanda’s perfect reality.”
