Yesterday was 20th Century Fox’s turn up at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, and part of their presentation includedVictor Frankenstein. Now Empire Magazine has released the first two official photos from this twist on the classicMary Shelleyhorror fable. The film is directed byPaul McGuigan, known best for his work onSherlock, and it is written by the often outspokenMax Landis, who has become more known as a celebrity than a screenwriter after making waves with the superhero movieChronicle.
The first image shows starsJames McAvoyas the mad scientist who creates the monster, andDaniel Radcliffeas his put-upon assistant Igor as they wait for their next shot on set. The second image shows Dr. Frankenstein hard at work inside his lab as the camera rolls on his mad creation. About the experience of making the movie, and the story itself,James McAvoystates:

“As much as the monster is his creation, Igor is his creation as well. That was quite exciting. It’s funny, the script, but also really dark, in a cool way.”
This thriller followsI, Frankensteinand arrives along with theCarrie-Anne Moss,Xavier Samueland Danny Huston-ledFrankensteinas Hollywood continues its mad love affair with this particular classic monster tale. This time out,Paul McGuiganis focusing more on the relationship between Dr. Frankenstein and Igor, with the assistant getting more of a spotlight than he ever has before. The film hits theaters in time for Halloween this year, arriving on October 2. It also boasts a strong ensemble withJessica Brown Findlay, Andrew Scott and Freddie Fox joining in on the fun.
