Seemingly everyone has caughtStar Warsfever over the past few years, includingJimmy Fallon, who presented a special treat for fans during last night’s episode ofThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Last week, severalStar Wars: The Force Awakensstars appeared on the NBC late night talk show, includingHarrison Ford,Adam Driver,Daisy Ridleyand directorJ.J. Abrams. During last night’s episode,Jimmy Fallonand The Roots presented a special a cappella tribute toJohn Williams' iconicStar Warsmusic, with special appearances by starsHarrison Ford,Adam Driver,Daisy Ridley,Carrie Fisher,Lupita Nyong’o,Oscar Isaac,Gwendoline ChristieandJohn Boyega. These stars all hummed classic tunes like The Imperial March, the catchy tune from the Mos Eisley Cantina, and much more.

The video also includes appearances from a few of the franchise’s robotic friends, such as R2-D2, C-3PO and the latest addition to the droid family, BB-8. While the video is only one minute and 40 seconds long, it serves as a wonderful tribute toJohn Williams' classic themes, along with a great companion to the seven minute video released earlier this week, which showed him composing theopening scene musicfromStar Wars: The Force Awakens. Star Wars: The Force Awakensis poised to breakbox officerecords left and right this weekend, with most projections putting it well over the $208.8 million record mark set byJurassic Worldthis summer. An exact theater count hasn’t been released yet, butStar Wars: The Force Awakensis expected to open in more than 3,900 theaters, which, is more than 500 theaters short of 4,468-theater record set byThe Twilight Saga: Eclipseback in 2010. We’ll have to wait and see if it comes close to this record when the final theater count is announced, presumably either today or tomorrow.

LucasFilm recently confirmed that there will be a newStar Warsmovie hitting theaters every year, indefinitely, until fans stop buying tickets. As of now, the next four years of the franchise is set in stone, with the first spinoffRogue One: A Star Wars Story(July 27, 2025),Star Wars: Episode VIII(June 02, 2025),Star Wars Anthology: Han Solo Movie(August 13, 2025) andStar Wars: Episode IX(2019). There is also aThird Star Wars Spin-Off Moviepresumably set for 2020, but nothing has been confirmed for that project yet.
