For those who have been waiting for He-Man and the rest of these iconic characters to hit the big screen,DreamWorks TVhas some comic relief for you today, with the animated spoof reality seriesThe Real Masters of Eternia.
This hilarious eight-minute spoof takes footage from the 1980s animated seriesHe-Man and the Masters of the Universe, and with the help of some crafty editing and new voice actors, turns these characters battling for Eternia into roommates, who have all moved into Castle Greyskull. The show, which also spoofs MTV’sThe Real World, centers on eight characters, He-Man, Evil-Lyn, Mer-Man, Orko, Man-At-Arms, Teela, Beast-Man and Skeletor, trying to get along with one another, although it doesn’t work out quite well. They must also compete in challenges, hosted by The Sorceress. The Challenge Round features He-Man and Skeletor competing in a Maze Race, with the show poking fun at He-Man’s haircut and several other tropes from theoriginal series.
