Suitsmade its way to television in 2011 and grew to become one of the most popular legal drama shows of the last few decades. This production, created by Aaron Korsh, follows the staff of a fictional New York City law firm and the day-to-day situations that unfold among them, starring Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht, and Meghan Markle, as well as many other stars.Suitsremained on air for nine seasons until 2019, and its outstanding audience response prompted the development of the spin-off seriesPearson, though it was canceled after just one season.

Although a few years have passed since its finale,Suitsstill attracts new fans who discover it through streaming services to this day (it, in fact, saw a resurgence of popularity on Netflix in November 2023). The hype surrounding the legal drama fueled the development ofa new spin-off seriestitledSuits: Los Angelesthat will have Korsh return as showrunner. While we still don’t know if the actors of the original cast will be back in this new production, one thing is certain: most of them have been very busy over the last few years. 10Meghan Markle — Rachel Zane

Among the audience’s favorite characters inSuitsstands Rachel Zane, a paralegal and the daughter of a renowned lawyer who seeks to make a name for herself. This character proved to be the most important inMeghan Markle’s career, as she struggled to cement herself as an industry star since the early-2000s. But, despite the recognition that her involvement inSuitsmeant, she opted to quit acting after the show’s seventh season for greater reasons: marrying Prince Harry, thus becoming the Duchess of Sussex.

After the wedding, the former actress launched, alongside her husband, the non-profit organization, Archewell, and moved with her family to Southern California. Although she did not join the cast of any other film or TV series, she hasn’t stayed away from the industry either: besides hosting the Spotify podcastArchetypes, she shot the Netflix documentaryHarry & Meghan, released in 2022.

9Patrick J. Adams — Mike Ross

Patrick J. Adamsjoined the cast ofSuitsto play Michael Ross, who was hired as a lawyer despite not actually holding a law degree. As was the case with Markle’s Rachel, this character became the most acclaimed in the actor’s career, and landed him a SAG Award nomination and critical acclaim. Adams remained involved in the show as star, co-producer, and even director of some episodes until its seventh season, when he left the cast after feeling that his character’s narrative arc was complete. Still, he came back as a recurring character in the show’s final season.

After his time onSuits, Adams went on to land roles in both film and television. Among his most popular gigs in recent years are the TV seriesLegends of Tomorrow,The Right Stuff,andPlan B, a Canadian drama series in which he starred in its first season. Adams was last seen on-screen earlier this month in the premiere of Jeffrey Darling’sHe Went That Way, a thriller movie starring Jacob Elordi and Zachary Quinto.

8Gabriel Macht — Harvey Specter

Gabriel Machtplays Harvey Specter, the senior partner at Pearson Hardman, who was responsible for hiring Michael Ross in the first place. Macht is one of the few actors in the cast to participate in every season ofSuits, and, in fact, his role as Specter remains the most important one in his career to this day, despite having taken his first steps in the industry at a very young age.

Unlike the vast majority of his cast mates, Gabriel has not been as involved in the industry after his time onSuits. He was last seen on-screen in 2019, reprising his most popular role in two episodes of the spin-off seriesPearson, opposite Gina Torres.

7Rick Hoffman — Louis Litt

Rick Hoffmanis another actor fromSuitswho remained involved in the project throughout all seasons. In his case, he played Louis Litt, a supervising attorney at the law firm who became one of the audience’s favorite characters. While this was the most important role in Hoffman’s career, he had already gained some notoriety in the industry for his stints onThe Bernie Mac ShowandSamantha Who?.

After playing Litt for nine seasons, Hoffman remained involved in film and television projects, although not as much as in previous years. In addition to reprising his role in theSuitsspin-off, he landed the recurring part of Dr. Swerdlow on the popular Showtime seriesBillions, and also appeared inEli Roth’s slasher filmThanksgiving, released in 2023.

6Sarah Rafferty — Donna Paulsen

Sarah Raffertyrounds out the group of actors featured in every season ofSuits, in her case, playing Specter’s secretary, Donna Paulsen. While Rafferty had been working in the industry for a few years prior to landing this role, Donna earned her recognition from fans around the world, and to this day remains her most important part.

Upon the show’s conclusion in 2019, the actress mostly focused on television, landing recurring roles on two of the most popular medical dramas of the last few decades:Grey’s AnatomyandChicago Med. She is currently a main cast member of the Netflix TV seriesMy Life with the Walter Boys, which got renewed for a second season this past December.

5Gina Torres — Jessica Pearson

For seven seasons ofSuits,Gina Torresplayed Jessica Pearson, one of the founders of Pearson Hardman, and she later reprised the role in the show’s 2019 eponymous spin-off. The actress, who has been in the industry for over three decades, became known in the early-2000s for her participation in several sci-fi projects, most notably the filmsThe Matrix ReloadedandThe Matrix Revolutions, as well as Joss Whedon’sFirefly.

Torres leftSuitsin 2018 to focus on herself, although she has appeared in a few projects in recent years, mostly on television. Afterserving as a voice actressin Disney’sTangled: The SeriesandElena of Avalor, Torres joined the cast of9-1-1: Lone Starin its second season to play Tommy Vega. She also landed a supporting role in Netflix’s rom-comThe Perfect Find, which premiered last June.

4Amanda Schull — Katrina Bennett

Amanda Schulljoined the cast ofSuitsin its second season to play associate attorney Katrina Bennett, a recurring character that becomes more prominent in season eight, following Adams and Markle’s departures. Prior to joining the cast, the actress spent several years working in the industry, securing roles on popular series such asOne Tree HillandPretty Little Liars, among many others. During her time onSuits, she also starred alongside Aaron Stanford in12 Monkeys, a show inspired by the 1995 film.

Following the end of this hit legal drama, Schull kept on working in the industry, mostly making cameos in different shows and starring in Hallmark TV movies. In 2023, she costarred again with Torres in9-1-1: Lone Star, although she only appeared in the show for a few episodes of the fourth season.

3Katherine Heigl — Samantha Wheeler

Katherine HeigljoinedSuitsfollowing the departure of Markle and Adams to play Zane Specter Litt’s new partner, Samantha Wheeler. But prior to playing the role, she was already world-famous for her role as Izzie Stevens onGrey’s Anatomyand her appearances in wildly popular rom-coms such asKnocked Upand27 Dresses.

Just a few years after wrappingSuits, Heigl landed her most prominent role of recent times as leading actress inFirefly Lane, a Netflix TV series, in which she also served as executive producer. She was last seen on the silver screen in 2021 in the horror thriller filmFear of Rain, and is expected to co-star alongside John Travolta in the upcomingmusical rom-comThat’s Amore!.

2Rachael Harris — Sheila Sazs

ThroughoutSuits' nine seasons,Rachael Harrisplayed Sheila Sazs, a Harvard Law School employee responsible for helping graduates get jobs at law firms. But despite Harris' extensive career in the industry, she gained worldwide notoriety for her role as Linda in the TV seriesLucifer, in which she starred during her time onSuits. This was her most important project of recent times, although she was also seen in shows such asGhostsandFantasy Island.

Currently, the actress is part of the cast ofGoosebumps, a show inspired by R. L. Stine’s book series that hit Disney+ and Hulu last October. She is also expected to appear in Jerry Seinfeld’s upcoming filmUnfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story.

1Wendell Pierce — Robert Zane

Rounding out this list isWendell Pierce, who, from the show’s second season onwards, played renowned attorney Robert Zane. Pierce has been in the industry for many, many years, working in film, television, theater, and even radio, gaining notoriety for productions like HBO’sThe Wireand films likeFourandBurning Cane.

During his time onSuits, he landed a role in another important project: the action TV seriesJack Ryan,starring John Krasinski.
