DirectorBryan Singerhas never been shy about sharing photos and videos from the sets of any of his movies, a tradition that has continued inX-Men: Apocalypse. Ever since principal photography began in late April, the filmmaker has been sharing a number of photos and videos, and today, his latest video shows off a bit of movie magic. As it turns out, thesuperhero movieis using the same set asRoland Emmerich’s upcoming gay rights dramaStonewall, withBryan Singershowing how part of that bar set was turned into Storm’s (Alexandra Shipp) Cairo apartment. Take a look at the director’s statement from hisInstagrampage earlier today.

Earlier this month, the director also showed a photo whereStormwas seen overlooking Cairo, with the help of technology known as SimulCam, which inserts CGI backdrops into green screen shots, live on the set. Last month, we saw part of another Egyptian set in a different photo posted byBryan Singer, who was dwarfed by a truly massive statue. We’re not sure how much filming is left on the Montreal set, but we know the director will keep us posted.

X-Men: Apocalypseis set in the year 1983, 10 years after the events ofX-Men: Days of Future Past. The story centers on the villainous Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), who is assembling hisFour Horsemen. Storm is one of these Horsemen, who Apocalypse finds in her hometown of Cairo. He also travels the world in collectingBen Hardy’s Archangel,Olivia Munn’s Psylocke andMichael Fassbender’s Magneto, who has been living a secluded life in Poland for the past 10 years, following the events ofX-Men: Days of Future Past.

Xavier (James McAvoy) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) eventually discover Apocalypse’s plans, as they put together a team of young mutants such as Jubilee (Lana Condor), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) and Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee) to fight the ancient bad guy.Nicholas Hoult(Beast),Lucas Till(Havok),Evan Peters(Quicksilver) andRose Byrne(Moira McTaggert) are also returning to reprise their roles fromX-Men: First ClassandX-Men: Days of Future Past.
